NASEO is developing resources and facilitating convenings to support State and Territory Energy Offices interested in coordinating with Tribes on energy-related policies, programs, and plans. By connecting states with resources and experts, compiling examples and best practices, and organizing dialogues across a range of topics – from overall tribal engagement strategies to coordination on State Energy Security Plans and the Home Energy Rebate programs – NASEO aims to strengthen partnerships and assist states and Tribes in meeting their unique energy goals.

If you have any questions, please contact: Grace Lowe (glowe@naseo.org) for General Inquiries, Campbell Delahoyde (cdelahoyde@naseo.org) for Energy Security Coordination, or Maddie Koewler (mkoewler@naseo.org) for Home Energy Rebate Program Coordination.
To support State and Territory Energy Offices interested in engaging and partnering with Tribal Nations, NASEO launched a Tribal Coordination Working Group whose objectives are to:
  • Increase understanding of state and federal initiatives and activities supporting tribal energy priorities;
  • Offer best practice guidance for State Energy Offices interested in engaging and coordinating with tribal partners;
  • Highlight opportunities for State Energy Offices to support tribal energy improvements.
The Working Group is open to all State and Territory Energy Offices, interested U.S. Department of Energy staff, and invited guests. Working Group meetings will take place virtually on a monthly basis. Participants will have an opportunity to suggest topics for Working Group discussions, provide input on draft written materials, and help guide NASEO’s tribal coordination programming.
